Unofficial VirtualDub Support Forums > Testing / Bug Reports > Audio Encoding To Mp3 Crahses Virtual Dub

Posted by: atalon1 Mar 28 2003, 07:40 AM
Hello, i'm using the lastest version of virtual dub (modifed version compatible with mpeg2). Encoding the video to divx 5.02 works when i keep the sound in wave. But when i try to compress the sound into mp3, when the encoding reach video frame 9995, the encoding stops but virtual dub is still in process. Then i have to abort it and the message is "access violation ... divx" appeared. I'm sorry i have forgotten the crashinfo file, so i will send it later.
I thought it was beccause of my audigy player mp3 codec, so i installed lame codec, but it's the same problem. I changed the video file, and it is still the same : no encoding after the 9995 video frame.
If more informations needed, please ask me.
Thanks for help.

Sorry, i've just read other posts about 9995 error but i don't have a DV card Pinnacle but a ATI 8500DV.

Sorry to be late but here is the crash-info file :

Do you by any chance have a Creative sound card?

Posted by: atalon1 Apr 15 2003, 10:54 AM
Hi, of course i have a creative sound card, it's an audigy player.
My configuration :
Abit KR7A_RAID
3d prophet AIW 8500DV (last drivers)
Creative Audigy player (last cd driver)
AMD 1800+
2*256Mo DDR 333
Windows xp home + sp1

I have the same problem. I have the creative audigy mp3 sound card and can't encode to mp3. I've given up on trying to figure out how to get it to work. No one's been able to tell me how to fix it either. I think it has to do with the fact that creative comes with its own mp3 codec. It may interfere with virtualdub

After the SoundBlaster Live! gave everyone headaches with VIA/AMD motherboards, and after watching Creative Labs' responses to the problem for a long time, I'll never buy another Creative soundcard. No problems after almost 2 years with my Turtle Beach Santa Cruz.
