| Unofficial VirtualDub Support Forums > Testing / Bug Reports > Audio Encoding To Mp3 Crahses Virtual Dub |
| Posted by: atalon1 Mar 28 2003, 07:40 AM |
| Hello, i'm using the lastest version of virtual dub (modifed version compatible with mpeg2). Encoding the video to divx 5.02 works when i keep the sound in wave. But when i try to compress the sound into mp3, when the encoding reach video frame 9995, the encoding stops but virtual dub is still in process. Then i have to abort it and the message is "access violation ... divx" appeared. I'm sorry i have forgotten the crashinfo file, so i will send it later. I thought it was beccause of my audigy player mp3 codec, so i installed lame codec, but it's the same problem. I changed the video file, and it is still the same : no encoding after the 9995 video frame. If more informations needed, please ask me. Thanks for help. Sorry, i've just read other posts about 9995 error but i don't have a DV card Pinnacle but a ATI 8500DV. Sorry to be late but here is the crash-info file : VirtualDub crash report -- build 15654 (release) -------------------------------------- Disassembly: 0197bd00: 742c jz 0197bd2e 0197bd02: 8915206ca201 mov [01a26c20], edx 0197bd08: c745fcffffffff mov dword ptr [ebp-04], ffffffff 0197bd0f: 8bc2 mov eax, edx 0197bd11: ebc4 jmp 0197bcd7 0197bd13: 8b45dc mov eax, [ebp-24] 0197bd16: 8d4870 lea ecx, [eax+70] 0197bd19: e8e2900000 call 01984e00 0197bd1e: c3 ret 0197bd1f: 8b45dc mov eax, [ebp-24] 0197bd22: 8d8818010000 lea ecx, [eax+118] 0197bd28: e8d38bffff call 01974900 0197bd2d: c3 ret 0197bd2e: 8b82dc000000 mov eax, [edx+dc] 0197bd34: 50 push eax 0197bd35: ff1528b29f01 call dword ptr [019fb228] 0197bd3b: 8b45dc mov eax, [ebp-24] 0197bd3e: c780dc00000000 mov dword ptr [eax+dc], 00000000 000000 0197bd48: c745fcffffffff mov dword ptr [ebp-04], ffffffff 0197bd4f: eb86 jmp 0197bcd7 0197bd51: b8703fa301 mov eax, 01a33f70 0197bd56: e9726b0600 jmp 019e28cd 0197bd5b: 90 nop 0197bd5c: 90 nop 0197bd5d: 90 nop 0197bd5e: 90 nop 0197bd5f: 90 nop 0197bd60: 55 push ebp 0197bd61: 8bec mov ebp, esp 0197bd63: 6aff push ff 0197bd65: 6878be9701 push 0197be78 0197bd6a: 64a100000000 mov eax, fs:[00000000] 0197bd70: 50 push eax 0197bd71: 64892500000000 mov fs:[00000000], esp 0197bd78: 83ec1c sub esp, 1c 0197bd7b: 8965f0 mov [ebp-10], esp 0197bd7e: 897de0 mov [ebp-20], edi 0197bd81: 8975e8 mov [ebp-18], esi 0197bd84: 895de4 mov [ebp-1c], ebx 0197bd87: 894ddc mov [ebp-24], ecx 0197bd8a: c745fc00000000 mov dword ptr [ebp-04], 00000000 0197bd91: c745fc01000000 mov dword ptr [ebp-04], 00000001 0197bd98: 8b4ddc mov ecx, [ebp-24] 0197bd9b: 8a8130060000 mov al, [ecx+630] <-- FAULT 0197bda1: 84c0 test al, al 0197bda3: 7416 jz 0197bdbb 0197bda5: 33c0 xor eax, eax 0197bda7: 50 push eax 0197bda8: 50 push eax 0197bda9: 6a02 push 02 0197bdab: 51 push ecx 0197bdac: e84f8f0300 call 019b4d00 0197bdb1: 8b4ddc mov ecx, [ebp-24] 0197bdb4: c6813006000000 mov byte ptr [ecx+630], 00 0197bdbb: 8b5168 mov edx, [ecx+68] 0197bdbe: 85d2 test edx, edx 0197bdc0: 7412 jz 0197bdd4 0197bdc2: 33c0 xor eax, eax 0197bdc4: 50 push eax 0197bdc5: 50 push eax 0197bdc6: 6a01 push 01 0197bdc8: 52 push edx 0197bdc9: e8e2940000 call 019852b0 0197bdce: 83c410 add esp, 10 0197bdd1: 8b4ddc mov ecx, [ebp-24] 0197bdd4: 8b81d0000000 mov eax, [ecx+d0] 0197bdda: 85c0 test eax, eax 0197bddc: 7409 jz 0197bde7 0197bdde: 8b10 mov edx, [eax] 0197bde0: 50 push eax 0197bde1: ff5208 call dword ptr [edx+08] 0197bde4: 8b4ddc mov ecx, [ebp-24] 0197bde7: 8b81d4000000 mov eax, [ecx+d4] 0197bded: 85c0 test eax, eax 0197bdef: 7409 jz 0197bdfa 0197bdf1: 8b10 mov edx, [eax] 0197bdf3: 50 push eax 0197bdf4: ff5208 call dword ptr [edx+08] 0197bdf7: 8b4ddc mov ecx, [ebp-24] 0197bdfa: 8b81d8000000 mov eax, [ecx+d8] Windows 5.1 (Windows XP build 2600) [Service Pack 1] EAX = 0012f004 EBX = 73b3acc0 ECX = 00f33c80 EDX = 00000004 EBP = 0012efc4 DS:ESI = 0023:00f33c80 ES:EDI = 0023:00000000 SS:ESP = 0023:0012ef9c CS:EIP = 001b:0197bd9b FS = 0038 GS = 0000 EFLAGS = 00010216 MM0 = 0000138c0000138c MM1 = 0000138c0000138c MM2 = 0000138c0000138c MM3 = 0000138c0000138c MM4 = 0012f72000000000 MM5 = 8000000000000000 MM6 = d000000000000000 MM7 = d000000000000000 Crash reason: Access Violation Crash context: An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'DivX'. | I have the same problem. I have the creative audigy mp3 sound card and can't encode to mp3. I've given up on trying to figure out how to get it to work. No one's been able to tell me how to fix it either. I think it has to do with the fact that creative comes with its own mp3 codec. It may interfere with virtualdub |

| After the SoundBlaster Live! gave everyone headaches with VIA/AMD motherboards, and after watching Creative Labs' responses to the problem for a long time, I'll never buy another Creative soundcard. No problems after almost 2 years with my Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. |
