I've been using virtualdub for quite some time now on WinXP with no trouble what-so-ever. However, I've recently updated to Windows 7, and since, have been receiving error messages while doing tasks that I performed perfectly well in XP. So here's what I'm doing: I'm compressing a gaming video recorded using Fraps. I open the video, and select the DIVX codec for compression, as seen in this picture. ![]() I then select "save as AVI" from the file menu, and as soon as it begins progressing, I receive an error message reading "Video compression error: The source image format is not acceptable. (error code -2)" Also pictured below. http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/5236/errordi.jpg This is the exact same process I've used dozens of times before without issue, so I am at a bit of a loss regarding what the problem is and how to fix it. If anyone could provide any help or insight, I'd be extremely grateful. Thanks for your time, Knight5923

In the "Select video compression" dialogbox that you mention: - click on the Configure button (while the DivX codec is still selected in the list); - in the "Main"-tab, at Certification Profile choose "Home theater profile" or something higher (probably it is now set on "Mobile profile" which is not compatible with the resolution of your video file

Select the unrestricted profile in the divx settings, that setting probably got reset.
