Crash context: An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'ntdll'. I have seen in the forum that is another member with the same problem exactly. Perhaps it is good idea that we investigate what it happens if we changed of version of divx or Gordian, and to not only change of version of VDM or Avisynth.

Process memory heap is getting trashed -- MPEG-2 decoder is the suspect as it is the location of the failed free operation and I see this dump a lot.

Thank you very much by the answer! Truely much people who use 15010 VMD and Divx11 through the Gordian Knot this having this same problem. I thought that I could be a failure of encoder-decoder MPEG4, Divx 511, never thought about decoder MPEG2. I must change the version of mpeg2dec3? or one is decoder MPEG2 by defect that my system uses - cyberlink, nvidia, etc -? Greetings, and I that we are going to be able to fix this bug, is of where is. Vega22

Hi! I'm a new member and i'm a french boy (sorry!), so my english was perhaps no good, but i'm going to try to explain my problem : I've got the same problem (out of bounds memory / crash...) when i encode a DV AVI type 2 video file from my videocam, to Divx 5.1 with Virtual Dub! Since 4 months i try and i try and i try every codecs Divx 3.11, divx 4, divx 5.02, divx 5.05, divx 5.11...With every Virtual 1 4 13, 1 5 1, 1 5 4, virtual Dub Mode, Nandub...With every codec DVSD : Pinnacle, Matrox, Cannopus,... And every the same error at the 19000 / 20000 frames (1/3 of the total movie time) : Crash reason: Access Violation Crash context: An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'miroDV2avi'... ...while decompressing video frame 18825 with "Pinnacle DV codec" [biCompression=64737664] (VideoSource.cpp:1567)... ...while running thread "Processing" (thread.cpp:120). I try with "No audio", or "Direct stream copy", but always the same answer!...I try to make a copy of my original AVI without audio and to encode him, but the same problem! I'm desperate because any french forums can't help me since 4 months !!! So I hope that you will understand my modest english language, and that someone can help me... See you later Rvirt

| I am from Spain and my English is also too poor...sorry. All this is very strange: I have changed the version of the decoder of mpg2, and have proven cutting the file up to 1.5 gigas of size: not error. But when I return to try with the complete file (2,3 gigas .mpg), again the same error: VirtualDub crash report -- build 2424 (release) -------------------------------------- Disassembly: 77f73960: 45 inc ebp 77f73961: 0c89 or al, 89 77f73963: 45 inc ebp 77f73964: 08743964 or [ecx+edi+64], dh 77f73968: a118000000 mov eax, [00000018] 77f7396d: 8b4030 mov eax, [eax+30] 77f73970: 8b400c mov eax, [eax+0c] 77f73973: 8b400c mov eax, [eax+0c] 77f73976: 83c02c add eax, 2c 77f73979: 50 push eax 77f7397a: 681a37f777 push 77f7371a 77f7397f: e8a723ffff call 77f65d2b 77f73984: 8b4508 mov eax, [ebp+08] 77f73987: 8d443810 lea eax, [eax+edi+10] 77f7398b: 50 push eax 77f7398c: 57 push edi 77f7398d: 682637f777 push 77f73726 77f73992: e89423ffff call 77f65d2b 77f73997: 83c414 add esp, 14 77f7399a: 57 push edi 77f7399b: e89a910100 call 77f8cb3a 77f739a0: 8a4605 mov al, [esi+05] 77f739a3: 2410 and al, 10 77f739a5: a810 test al, 10 77f739a7: 884705 mov [edi+05], al 77f739aa: 740b jz 77f739b7 77f739ac: 0fb64704 movzx eax, byte ptr [edi+04] 77f739b0: 8b448358 mov eax, [ebx+eax*4+58] 77f739b4: 897838 mov [eax+38], edi 77f739b7: 0fb70f movzx ecx, word ptr [edi] 77f739ba: 8b4510 mov eax, [ebp+10] 77f739bd: 0108 add [eax], ecx 77f739bf: 0fb70f movzx ecx, word ptr [edi] 77f739c2: 294b28 sub [ebx+28], ecx 77f739c5: f6470510 test [edi+05], 10 77f739c9: 668b00 mov ax, [eax] 77f739cc: 8bf7 mov esi, edi 77f739ce: 668907 mov [edi], ax 77f739d1: 750d jnz 77f739e0 77f739d3: 8b4510 mov eax, [ebp+10] 77f739d6: 8b08 mov ecx, [eax] 77f739d8: 668bc1 mov ax, cx 77f739db: 668944cf02 mov [edi+ecx*8+02], ax 77f739e0: f6460510 test [esi+05], 10 77f739e4: 0f85c2010000 jnz 77f73bac 77f739ea: 8b4510 mov eax, [ebp+10] 77f739ed: 8b00 mov eax, [eax] 77f739ef: 8d3cc6 lea edi, [esi+eax*8] 77f739f2: f6470501 test [edi+05], 01 <-- FAULT 77f739f6: 0f85b0010000 jnz 77f73bac 77f739fc: 0fb70f movzx ecx, word ptr [edi] 77f739ff: 03c8 add ecx, eax 77f73a01: 81f900fe0000 cmp ecx, 0000fe00 77f73a07: 0f879f010000 ja 77f73bac 77f73a0d: 807d1400 cmp byte ptr [ebp+14], 00 77f73a11: 0f84b0000000 jz 77f73ac7 77f73a17: 56 push esi 77f73a18: 53 push ebx 77f73a19: e85bf5ffff call 77f72f79 77f73a1e: 8b4608 mov eax, [esi+08] 77f73a21: 8b4e0c mov ecx, [esi+0c] 77f73a24: 3bc1 cmp eax, ecx 77f73a26: 8901 mov [ecx], eax 77f73a28: 894804 mov [eax+04], ecx 77f73a2b: 7521 jnz 77f73a4e 77f73a2d: 668b06 mov ax, [esi] 77f73a30: 663d8000 cmp ax, 0080 77f73a34: 7318 jnc 77f73a4e 77f73a36: 0fb7c8 movzx ecx, al 77f73a39: 8bc1 mov eax, ecx 77f73a3b: 83e107 and ecx, 07 77f73a3e: b201 mov dl, 01 77f73a40: c1e803 shr eax, 03 77f73a43: d2e2 shl dl, cl 77f73a45: 8d841858010000 lea eax, [eax+ebx+158] 77f73a4c: 3010 xor [eax], dl 77f73a4e: 8a4605 mov al, [esi+05] 77f73a51: a804 test al, 04 77f73a53: 746c jz 77f73ac1 77f73a55: a802 test al, 02 77f73a57: 0fb70e movzx ecx, word ptr [esi] 77f73a5a: 8d0ccd lea ecx, [ebp+ecx*8] 77f73a5d: f0 lock 77f73a5e: ff db ff 77f73a5f: ff db ff Windows 5.1 (Windows XP build 2600) [Service Pack 1] EAX = 0000ffd5 EBX = 013c0000 ECX = 0012f7c8 EDX = 013c0001 EBP = 0012f728 DS:ESI = 0023:01406a00 ES:EDI = 0023:014868a8 SS:ESP = 0023:0012f71c CS:EIP = 001b:77f739f2 FS = 003b GS = 0000 EFLAGS = 00010246 FPUCW = ffff027f FPUTW = ffffffff MM0 = 0000000000000000 MM1 = 0000000000000000 MM2 = 0000000000000000 MM3 = 0000000000000000 MM4 = 0000000000000000 MM5 = 0000000000000000 MM6 = 0000000000000000 MM7 = 0000000000000000 Crash reason: Access Violation Crash context: An out-of-bounds memory access (access violation) occurred in module 'ntdll'. | I have already verified it: VDM is crashing right in the end of each happening of compression, when the creation of the compressed file has already finished Greetings from Spain |

FIXED PROBLEM: I have purified and cleaned the original file (MPEG2 from DVB) with an suitable program, eliminating a-synchronous elements in the GOPS, and the problem was finished!. No longer VDM through the Mpeg2dec3.dll decoder is hung. Also I defragmented the file, to make agile it everything, i do not know if that will have influenced in something or no. thanks to Phaeron, that place the suspicion towards the decoding of archivon mpeg2, and I hope that it serves to you as something for your own problem which has been used for mine, Rivrt. Greetings

My english is not famous, but I will make an effort to understand you!... Pleeeeaaaassssssssseeeee !!!!!!! Thanx for your help ! Rvirt |

Sorry by my english of Seville :-) Rivrt: it is not necessary to know what is the GOPS. It is sufficient to know a program that serves to readjust the files that can have problems. I use for the PVA and the MPG (MPEG) the pvastrumento. Hopefully he serves to you. Greetings!

Thanx for your answer Vega22 and your precious help! My english is very poor ! Not your's ! So you tell me that : "It is sufficient to know a program that serves to readjust the files that can have problems"...All right, but can they help me with a probleme in mirodv2avi.dll (codec Pinnacle) ? You say too : "I use for the PVA and the MPG (MPEG) the pvastrumento"...But what Pvastrumento can do for me ? Can he check my DV file? I'm really lost! Really, really lost ! See you Vega22 Rvirt

Mmmmmm... I donīt know none specific program to synchronize your file DV... But you can prove to look for one, and/or to use another decoder less the mirodv2avi.dll. Good luck, neighbor ; -)! Vega22

It's me again! After many, many, maaannyyyyy researchs, I've found the problem! I've changed the Pinnacle DVSD codec to a SONY DVSD codec, and Virtual works very well since! Shame on me! Why? I don't know! I'm not a pro! But since, no problem, no bug, no error message of virtual memory! Lot of people who contact me for the same problem, work with Pinnacle codec and material! And they've got the same error. Since they work with Sony DVSD codec, it's the paradise!!! So, I don't know if the problem come from the Pinnacle codec, but this is the facts! Good night, peace and harmony for every body! Ciao! Rvirt
