Unofficial VirtualDub Support Forums > Testing / Bug Reports > Can't Open Divx5.1 In Matroska!

Posted by: hake Nov 20 2003, 03:20 PM
Hi I compressed some files to Divx 5.1.1! I chose the Matroska container!

After encoding, Virtual dub Mod was not abel to open that (new) file again!

I tried to encode it to Avi container, and it works to open it in Virtual Dub Mod!

File Playback in file player works also!

Virtual Dub mod tries to open the video with the xvid codec (seen in "File

information")! After i saw that, i tried to force Virtual dub mod, to use divx

(dx50) but it didnt work also!

So ther must be a bug in Virtual Dub mod or in the Matroska Continer!

regretfully there have been no updates on matroska page! And also not on

Virtual dub mod page! Since nearly 3 months nothing happend !

Are People still working on these Projects or have they died?

3 Months are a long time!

I think it should be possible to write 2 or 3 lines to the news, eyery month!

Yeah Ok! You surely have good reasons!

But that was not the topic!

What i want to know:

Is this Problem known? (ok, now it is)

The important thing in bugs is, that they are known!

If you know a problem, the time will come you solve it!

The reason, why i mentioned the long news-updates intervals, is, that the

new Divx 5.1 wasn't known at August! And so it wans't considered!

BUT, at all:

Great work! it is surely not easy to programm a new Container format, and, especially establish it!

Weiter so! biggrin.gif
