Does anyone think about including Lanczos to smart resize filter??
If so, look into ffdshow source code. It supports lanczos, and also has some nice deblocking features.

Well by now, I am tired of trying to understand ffdshow's MMX nice code, pity me.

If someone has a nice Lanczos routine in C i would be glad if he/she could post a link here, just to see if I can ad it to Smart resize.

Thank you!

If the smart resize filter is based off of VirtualDub's resample.cpp module all you have to do for decimation is add the Lanzcos3 formula to the kernel generator at the bottom. The decimation half of the resampler supports pretty much any FIR filter. You might as well just write a generalized windowed-sinc filter as that will allow you to try ridiculous 100-point filters if you want.

http://www.dspguide.com/ has a nice book about digital signal processing that will tell you just about everything you might want to know for tweaking resampling filters.

Hope the mods will don't mind linking to a thread in a another forum, but I'm too lazy to search for all the links in there.

For sure we dont !! We are hear to help people, not to praise ourselves. Any link to other pages that is useful to our readers here is ok ..... in fact, linking is the basic sense behind internet.

It makes me sad that there are sites now these days that forbid their members to link to useful information on other sites, because they could 'advertise' these places ......

You're always welcome here Mijo !
