Hi,
I have used the MSU Deflicker filter with great enthusiasm for correcting flickery footage on my home cine movie transfers. I went to use it then discovered it was no longer in my filter cache, and when I went to drag a saved version of the filter to Vdub - Vdub said it could not open it.
So I now have Vdub with all its filters except the two I mainly use MSU Deflicker filter and the Donald Graft version
Help please, I am about to transfer a new experimental cine project and I will surely be needing a deflick filter to make sense of some variable-exposed cine frames :-o

Filters go into the plugins folder inside virtualdub's
On old virtualdub's the folder is 'plugins' On newer virtualdubs, 32bit filters go into 'plugins32' and 64bit filters go into 'plugins64'
The next time you start virtualdub they should appear, if not, then the menu->view->log might show an error message

I'm using a 64bit Win7. I downloaded both Vdub and deflicker filter as 64bit versions. In the folder I extracted Vdub to (desktop) there are no files with "plugins" in their titles.
The log tab in Vdub is blank.
Please advise.

Just create a new folder in virtualdub's and call it plugins64 Then put all 64bit filters in there (if it's an older version of virtualdub, you'd have to name the folder plugins)

Done with thanks
BUT :-o
When I 'load' and choose the plugins64 folder - into which I dragged/copied the filter - Vdub tells me it is an empty folder, so is not recognising the DLL File (.dll) inside it.
Is there something I am not doing / doing wrong please? |

You don't need to load filters, they should just be there on the list of filters automatically Filters should have the extension .vdf though, not .dll ???????

Can it be that some file extensions are not actually shown in Windows Explorer ? Maybe it can clarify things to make them visible, via the Tools menu > Folder Options... > View tab > uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types". |

Thanks a lot for all your replies Finally I search a yuv file and use ffmepg wich "ffmpeg -s 352x288 -r 30 -i foreman.yuv -vcodec rawvideo foreman.avi" to create an avi. It's works.
Actually I'm trying interlaced rendering for game, render top field this frame and bot field next frame, I had use a simple filter similar to bob filter, but the aliasing is too obvious for a game, so I want to try yadif, before tried yadif I want to make sure the filter can really solve my problem, so I use foreman sequence do a test in VirtualDub, found that the aliasing is really good, but another problem is that flick is too obvious for tree leaf and wall at the end of foreman sequence, is there anyway to solve this?
And here is another problem I can support a sequence of our game with 120 frames(each contain 2 field), I'm not sure what's the layout image which contains a top filed& a bot field(one line for top,one line for bot?
Thanks. |
