Hi, I’m not very experienced with Filter Using and at the Moment I could use a little Help with the following Problem:
The Source for my Project is a captured VHS turned into .avi with GordianKnot. I want to denoise the Picture with NEAT Filter. The Result looks wonderful with one Mistake: The NEAT Filter has stopped working after ~ 43 Minutes. Sounds strange , but the Movie is filtered only till Minute 43, the Rest is still noisy. I tried other .avis – same Mistake.
What am I doing wrong ? I would love to have the Quality of the Filter for the whole Movie. Is there a Limit of Time/Space I have to uncheck ?
Excuse my poor English & Thanks in Advance.
(Software:Win 7 HP , VirtualDub 1.6.11 , Neat 2.0)

Looks like the "Demo" version has a 30 minute time limit...so you got 15 free minutes (?) http://www.neatvideo.com/featuremap.html |

Most filters if not all work are better with using an intermediate lossless avi video
Many ways to work with intermediate video with Virtualdub one of those ways to do this..
Install Largarith Codec http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html Open Virtualdub Load your old avi video Set video compression to Largarith Save the video as avi (1) Drag and drop the new saved avi (1) video to Virtualdub Set Neat Filter and make adjustments to your liking Save the video as avi (2) Drag and drop this new avi video (2) to Virtualdub
When ready to save the final avi video do so using another video compressor set to a format you need such as x264vfw 1. If need to install a codec 2. Close Virtualdub 3. Install the codec 4. Open Virtualdub load avi video (2) (or the last avi you saved)
Set the video compressor for your final video and its settings Save the final video as avi |

Might be a bug: 25fps * 60sec * 43.69min = 65535 frames = max unsigned 16 bit int value... |

The developer should be notified. Hopefully it's an easy fix, but if Neat has an inherent 16-bit limit, it might be a very difficult fix.
While you are waiting, you need to split your videos into segments, I guess. |
