In VirtualDub, there is the "Export" menu, where there is possible to do quality screenshots using the "Image sequence...". This is great, however when one want just the one screenshot that is on the screen (VDub use overlay, so... no PrtScr possible), then it force one to define a start-end area and produce more screenshots, that just the one wanted.
Since this is quite simple, then... it is possible to add function like that into the menu? Or I'm completely wrong and it can be done by some other simple way that is not yet know to me?
That should help sometimes, when the rage is set and one did not want to erase the settings, yet want to export the one image...

Actually I see two possibilities:
1) Cut out the preceding images and also the following, so that you only keep the one image that you want. Then use the File > Export function
2) Positionning VirtualDub to the image that you want to copy. Then use the Video > Copy source frame to clipboard function. The image will be placed in the Windows clipboard as a 'bitmap'. After that, you can 'paste' it anywhere in another (drawing/design) program.
With a little bit of luck, Phaeron will put your request on the wish-list. |

Since the function "Copy source frame to clipboard" does exist and working well, I bet that this feature is a very little priority to develop. Almost it is that doubling the function is unnecessary. Yes, it required some image editing software, but even basic M$ Paint can and will accept the image source as clipboard, so...
I almost feel ashamed for bringing that idea up.

There is something with F1 for input current frame, and F2 for output current frame. I don't remember exactly what, but i'm almost sure it's a one key, so try ctrl, alt or even shift with F1 and/or F2. |

In current versions you can configure the keyboard shortcuts under Options | Keyboard Shortcuts. The commands are Video.CopyOutputFrameImage and Video.CopySourceFrameImage.
No real technical reason for not having separate save image commands, other than it's kind of annoying UI-wise to find a place to put the image encoding options. |
