OK hi. I'm using this program called VirtualDub start timer that I just found on the net.. http://www.geocities.com/GeoFileSer0002/ei...r/vd_start.html It's more loosely called VDStart (Sounds like a virus)
Anyways I have tried every single TV capture app out there (No joke, some even 2x), and none of them work as good or do as much for me as Virtual Dub does. So naturally using VDStart to capture TV with Virtual Dub is awesome to me. There's just 1 problem I have: When VDStart finished a capture it just hits 'esc' in virtual dub, but doesn't close VDub and it leaves Vdub in the video capture mode.
I don't want this. I am hoping to find a way for Virtual Dub to close when it's done recording, and exit the capture mode. So here's my question: VDStart has no option to close VDub when capture is done and Virtual Dub has no option to exit capture mode when a capture is stopped.
Is there any other program to remote control Virtual Dub that has all the same features as VDStart, but can close Virtual Dub when the capture is done? Is there some other way I can have Virtual Dub to close when the capture is finished? Plz reply, thanks! |

There is a version of VirtualDub called VirtualDub VCR+SYNC that has features to record shows automatically.
You can get it at http://www.virtualdub.net/ the site is in German but the program was in English for me.

I always use this VDub version for capturing, it has the timer function and the sync modification "against drops". Wonderful.
But VDub is also left in Capture Mode when it is done.

Thanks for the suggestion but again like the previous poster said, it leaves Virtual Dub in capture mode. I need a solution that closes virtual dub when the capturing is done. I could easily do it myself if I had the source code to VDStart (VirtualDub start timer) but I don't have that

Aha.. VDStart Pro has the option to run a program (.exe), I had not seen that before. I might be able to code a .exe file that I can run that will close Virtual Dub for me.. In the mean time, anyone else with suggestions? |

Go to Donald graft´s filter page, There's a shutdown filter that performs what you are asking for. |

Hi. Well I talked to the author of VDStart pro. He told me he was going to add the feature to VirtualDub Start Timer to shut down the VDub after each capture! So I'm looking forward to that.
I checked out the filters page, but there was only a filter to shut down the system.. Not exit out of VirtualDub unless I missed something. Thx. |
