I can't say you why, but is wfm not a Windows Metafile

and you need VFW WDM Driver wich will work with virtualdub.
then see www.VirtualDub.com -> Documentation -> Howto insta ....

sorry when i missunderstood you

This card requires "Windows 98 SE / Me / 2000 / XP with DirectX 8.1 installed" according to LIFEVIEW.

Video capture with DirectX (WDM) is another interface than VDs Video for Windows (VFW) interface.

JanMann82 suggested that you try to use a WDM to VFW Wrapper software to get the card working under VD. Maybe Lifeview provides such a software in the driver package, check it.

The installation of the wrapper for Windows 2000 is described in VirtualDub documentation: How to install the VFWWDM wrapper for Windows 2000 and in Low Resolution Capture with VirtualDub.

Please report the results with Windows ME and your card...

hi again.

i reinstall winme (with norton ghost) and retry to capture. i am able to see video from the tv card but with the attempt to capture vd crashes. further attempts to capture bring the same problem- that i have already explained.

then i edit the registry a la windows 2000 tweaking, as stefan suggested, but nothing changes... cannot capture, along with a vd panic error ending.

so maybe there is no bt869 compatability yet...

fyi...
