Hi

When i capture TV, andt has nothing do to with the compression
i choose, the audio stream has crackels pops and so on in it.
I try a lot to solve this Problem (system updates ..)
I have found on vurtualdub.org that this bug is reportet there
but that nobody has a rock solid answer for it.
I have AC97 sound on board a Epox 8k3a+ with a Via Kt266 chip and
my Tvcard is a BT878
I read a lot about cklicking sound with Soundblaster live and Via Chips,
but only when i capture somthing with virtualdub or other third party
capturing tools the audio stream is worse.
When i capture with the poor capTv from Hauppauge there are no soundproblems but the possibilities of this capturing tool are very bad.

So perhaps someone knowing this problem and can help me

Thanks
Jan

The only solution I can give you is , If you want to capture with Vdub, to use a sound corrector software (like Cooledit) to blast away clicks and pops.

Thanks for you tip

but i have tried steinberg clean and the result was not very good

I have fixed the Problem

I have to update my Soundcard AC97 because the driver
can't make traceless acess to the pci bus.
The result was, that pops and cracks comes up when the
soundcard empty their buffers.

Perhaps the 4in1 Via Driver update has an effect on my succes, too.

now i have another Problem but that doesn't belong to this Forum

Your system maybe too slow to handle audio and video in the resolution and sampling rate your are trying to capture ? Clicks and posp in the audio are a sign for bad/missing samples of the audio ...
