Hello!
I know that Virtualdub can capture analog video from composite, S-Video source or even from the card's analog TV tuner. I have a hybrid analog and DVB-T TV tuner and since analog channels are no longer available in Athens, Greece, I wonder if there is anyway that I could capture from a digital channel using the tuner. In capture devices only the analog tuner is available, not the digital. Is there any third party plugin that allows using a digital tuner? It would be great to record some series to watch at a more convenient time. Of course one way would be to connect a stand-alone DVB-T tuner to the card via the composite input, but this is not really ideal...
Thank you for your time. |

The fundamental DVB-T data is an MPEG Transport Stream. All DVB-T pc devices output this stream. Some include software to allow you to write this stream directly to disk.
Once you have the TS stream captured you can process as you see fit without any intervening analogue degradation. |
