Ok, I record A LOT with virtualdub and my Dazzle DVC 100 (white) now today for some reason the directshow
option doesn't work anymore.
here is a screenshot.
this is what i normally record with, and have been doing so for months.
this on the other hand is what's concerning me. the fact that the wdm Image capture will pickup the signal, but the directshow wont.
things I have done today before attempting to record.
installed
UT Video Codec Suite
normal internet browsing.
after starting virtualdub and attempting to record, i thought that it might have been the UT codec i had installed.
so I uninstalled it to no avail.
I then tried to re-install the drivers for my Dazzle, and that didn't work either.
I also tried a different capture program NCH Debut video capture software, and it worked fine on the VFW and Direct show settings. so I don't know what to think. I would use Debut, but I don't get the great filters that i use with virtualdub. any help would be appreciated. Im going to attempt to reinstall ffdshow to see if that will fix the direct show issues. that or a system restore

system restore fixed the problem, but IDK what caused it in the first place.... |
