I have tried several different processes. All failed by producing corrupt or incomplete videos. I can make the video with subtitles and I can make the video with audio, but not both. Can virtualdub help me? |

I encoded into DivX 5, I have mp3 audio. The subtitles are in a .sub extension but I can use subresync to change it to another format.
I want the subtitles to be permanently on the screen, I don't want them turned off. But, if someone knows who to make it so that they can be turned on and off then that is fine. I'll take that too. I would like to use wmp to play them. |

First of all, there is no way of having the possibility of turning subtitles on and of if they are part of the image.So ,they need to be put into another file, which, depending on the multimedia container you use, may or may not be part of the same stream.
Second, if you have trouble making the two operations at a time, first add your subtitles and save, second open again your video stream , select direct stream copy under video options, append your compressed audio stream, and save.
There´s no problem doing this with Vdub.
If the question you´re making is about DVD ripping, as it seems to be, go to Doom9 forums because they have better information and can help you better than us.

If you want to add subtitles to video, just use the "subtitler" file. But you have to convert your subtitles to SubStation Alpha (*.ssa) format. Once added to video, subtitles can't be removed or "turned off". |
