Hello team!
I was fighting this color-patch problem for quite a while, until I got the idea to post it to your attention. I am sure, it increases the chance of solving it.
I put a couple of example pictures with the problem at http://www.geocities.com/mikeprona/weird_c...olor_noise.html
The problem is patches and virtcal stripes seen in shadows and some middletones (less visible). I am sure it's caused by the Nogatech's/Zoran chip's compression algorithm since it appears regardless of content (TV or VHS), video tuners (I used a couple), video standard (SECAM/PAL) or video formats (YUY2/I420/RGB).
I wonder if anyone had such a problem with BrookTree chips. |

I have a Brooktree chip and there are always some fluctuations in the image. I doubt, however, that it's due to the compression. A more likely cause is that some electrical signal is interfering with the input cable. Stuff like speakers, the TV and VCR themselves, your PC, an alarm clock... Try moving the cable around a bit and see if that helps. |
