You should get the newer AviSynth 2.06

Then try the: AVISynth port of Gunnar Thalin's Smooth Deinterlacer

It provides very smooth field to doubleframerate video.

Well, motion perfect generates new frames using motion detection (some tricks stripped from mpeg ) and interpolation and morphing techniques.
There is another programme, which is far better than Dynapels soft, called RE-Timer from Realviz.

To obtain the best results one way is:

1.Get your NTSC interlaced source video.
2.Deinterlaced it, getting 60 fps
3.Remove as many noise as you can
4.Apply Motion Perfect (e.g. 120 fps)
5.Retouch image to make it sharper (may be xsharpen and warpsharp)
6.Check it and apply Motion Perfect again.
7.Play your file at 25 fps, which is enough to see smooth playback.

Hope this is useful
