When I append multiple small segments for processing the render will add the segment multiple times and I end up with double the footage. Any idea why that is?

in the append dialog is 'autodetect additional segments by filename' ticked?
that'll automatically add numbered sequences of clips

Ha, Thank you! This was exactly my problem, too. I wondered why my output file size was at least double the size of the original parts.
I used the 'append avi' function a lot and never encountered this problem before, so may I ask what triggers the "autodetect additional segments" function? The pt(X) tag in the filename? Or something different? |

the files have to be sequentially numbered
eg file00.avi, file01.avi,file03.avi
there is a difference between what the open file dialog will auto append, and what the append dialog will autoappend
(off the top of my head I can't remember the exact differences, something to do with how many digits etc)
