Hi. I'm using fccHandler's plugin to load a MPEG2 video, but near the middle of the parsing process virtualDub crashes. If I open the file in Media Player Classic it plays it, but stops at half of the movie. I think the file is corrupted.
Is there some way to recover the entirety of the file? Thanks in advance. |

There a few softwares that say can do this, such as this one which is payware that has a fully working trial mode. After install use the quickfix feature to save fixed video.
I read it is a 'bait and fish' software, have a read of their forum for (fish or bait scam). Where the developers are promising customers that asked for features will be added to their product version they have paid for. Then wait years most times for the feature to be included in the current product version they have. Later only to find out to have this promised feature and be able to use it. Those customers will now have to buy another product version to have the feature 'bait and fish' scamware. Buy the product at least twice for one feature you need, buy many times over for each feature needed. Maybe they should make each feature a plugin then sell those instead which can then be used any product version. |

I am very satisfied with videoredo. It works pretty well with mpeg2 & mpeg4-h264 ts files from dvb tv-s.
I use it too to copy mpeg4-h264 a/v streams ts files in matroska H264 container and reencode with matroska plugin or directshow input driver to avi with virtual dub. |

While the earlier software mentioned above was mpeg2 based only. v4 has gone for other formats and containers using i read ffmpeg. While ffmpeg isn't the best around for encoding even not included now in ffdshow maybe for the same reason.
there is no support for using xvid vfw encoder or the ability to load xvid files. Xvid encoding need all xvid settings available for correct use, no problem if allow xvid vfw use.
Encoding and decoding of avi raw uncompressed or compressed using lagarith or huffyuv again easy via vfw.
The software would be greatly improved simply by allowing avisynth avs scripts. Then so many other formats and containers could then be loaded. Would then allow loading video and audio only streams.
With some simple thought that software could be very good. Once these changes are made then it would be software worth having. Even maybe those using higher priced editors would buy it since can then import via avisynth avs script there projects for further work.
I wonder how pro active they are to ideas and towards making their editor better for all to use. @ The main developer of this linked software if you like the above simple yet needed suggestion ideas for your linked here software. That you decide to use some or all these ideas. Small appreciation would be welcome with life auto renewal subscription to your latest softwares (example now would be vrtvs_v4). |
