Well hello,
just a quick question: I recorded a video clip and now wish to insert another audio file into the clip. (To be more specific, a game clip and I want to have the actual introduction in the foreground with the recorded audio in the background.) How can I achieve this?

You would bring both audio tracks into the likes of Audacity;lower the volume of the part of the one track you want in the background then mix the tracks.
Save the output and load it into VirtualDub.
For a running commentary you can use the Duck filter.
I know that RaffRiff has a guide for this - but I don't remember anymore where I saw it.
