I really don't understand all the options, filters, compression options, etc. nor do I want to take to time to try and learn them. I am hoping some kind soul will offer some suggested settings to get this to work.

I have a video segment shot by a local TV station that I would like to post onto YouTube. The segment was provided as a .vob, after installing VirtualDub-MPEG2 and AC3ACM I was able to run and hear the clip in vDub. The trouble is I have been unsuccessful saving it as an avi. I don't know which if any of the filters I should use and played with the video codecs (only the ones that reported no none limitations). The original file is 118mb, one combination of filters/compression yielded an 8mb avi! Woo- hoo!

Except that it won't play. The first frame appears then freezes. Try another combination of codecs/filters and it won't load at all, not in Media Player nor Quicktime. Another combination runs the first couple frames before freezing.

Can anyone give me some suggestions for creating a video for posting on YouTube? I certainly don't want to force ppl to dl a codec to view it either. What is the optimal display size? Frame rate? Compression %?

Thanks!

After a lot more fiddling I finally got it figured out, so no reply is necessary. Thanks!
