Hi,

I have a Creative Labs Video Blaster DVCR capture card, and am
currerntly using Virtual Dub. I am trying to capture video (just from the TV signal for now) and converting it to an AVI.

The video codec I am using is Huffyuv v2.1.1

When I select "set custom format" option from the video menu, and attempt to set the data format to YUY2 or 24-bit RGB, I get "Error 418: Unsupported video format"
I have tried many different combinations of resolutions and none of them seem to work with these particular data formats.

Is there another or different codec/driver that I should d/l and install? Or is the problem something else?

Thanks for your time and patience,
Sanachan1977

first you'll have to choose your compression codec (in your case huffyuv) then choose your desired format...

be aware of your driver - not every driver supports every resolution!! and not every resolution supports the data format of your choice.

have a closer look here:

VirtualDub documentation: Capture

"Have you ever noticed that whenever Microsoft calls something 'Smart', it's definitely a feature you want to disable!"
