-the first pass analyses the video where the most bits are needed and the second compresses it based on the info from pass 1.
right?

-the analys data generated is kbit-indipended. kbit setting has no effect on first pass, only on the second.
right?

1) Yes.
2) No.

Bitrate should be set the same for both passes. Some sources say you can change it up to 30% before doing the second pass, but any more than that and you should redo the first pass.
