-the first pass analyses the video where the most bits are needed and the second compresses it based on the info from pass 1. right?
-the analys data generated is kbit-indipended. kbit setting has no effect on first pass, only on the second. right? |

1) Yes. 2) No.
Bitrate should be set the same for both passes. Some sources say you can change it up to 30% before doing the second pass, but any more than that and you should redo the first pass.
