Forgive a dumbnewbie question. I have some AVIs that play only for a couple of seconds, some that play just fine. W98SE, WMP 6.4.07.1119 |

i have no idea... first you would need to figure out what is wrong with the files... can you open them in VDub?

| QUOTE (vgolding @ Dec 26 2004, 08:35 AM) | | I have some AVIs that play only for a couple of seconds, some that play just fine. | Reminds me of the old divx3 encodes. They used to get bad frames, when not encoded right. They can be fixed, but at a price.
1)Try Realplayer. It used to play bad frame avis.Dunno if it does anymore.
2)Cut bad frames. You must cut from first bad keyframe to before the next keyframe.Set audio and video to direct stream, then save.So you lose a second per bad frame.
3)Encode to mpeg then back to divx.Side effect is recompression, which causes worse looking vids. |
