lookin' at koller's play at this championship,i got the feeling he can only score with his head, not with the legs....
but yes,no favorites this time around;anyone can win....or lose...
tour starts? ohh, yes,i just turn on the telly, and 'prologue' is tomorrow... i'm wondering if joseba beloki recovered.... and i'm wondering how do you break a thigh bone by falling from a bicycle....

I hate falling with a passion. In indoor vball, I have never learned to fall safely. (A weakness.) And in beach, I've had to force myself to fall in the sand, sometimes, just practicing falling just to retrain my brain to believe it's acceptable and harmless.
But as far as breaks go, I wouldn't be surprised if ANY bone can break with almost ANY kind of fall. And I would think that biking could allow for just about any kind of break, including a thighbone. (I still cringe at my memory of a '96 olympic womens' bike race thru a city with WET streets and a bunch of those brave gals PILED UP in a big bloody gory mess. I would NEVER ride that close to anyone, even on a dry road let alone on a wet one.)
But, yeah, anything can break on a fall as radical as one from a moving bike! At least with a car (non-racing), I have a vehicle around me for partial protection. |

not to mention that cyclists are not really standing still when they fall. speeds of 50 km/h (30 miles/h) are enough to cause you serious injury even in a car accident.

it was just joseba's bones dried out from all the excessive effort(and steroids .... )
i myself was a bit surprised by it,as i know EXACTLY which amount of force is required to breaka 'femur'... we are talking about HUGE forces! when i see folks falling from bikes(moto..bike is moto, bicycle is bicycle) i go "man, your spine/neck is not broken?that 150kg bike was sitting on it and you were upside down!"
but he also broke "right elbow and wrist" ( http://forums.bicycling.com/thread.jspa?me...ssageID=1024438 ).... let's see if anyone this year would be so 'glassy'...
anyone ever so any athlete break a thighbone in event?no matter how hard they fell....

bike is more fun because you're on air.... and you can lean, and you can accelerate faster, you can slide..and yes,you can also die faster... in car,you can turn on heating on winters...

| QUOTE (Cyberman @ Jun 27 2004, 08:22 AM) | | Yes, I´ve heard about that. But who needs sport when he has a computer? ;-) |
I really have to comment on this - sorry to butt-in.
Here in Finland, we actually tried to play football using the computer.
We found the monitor to be too heavy to be kicked around the court.
So, we got bored and started to develop mobile phones.
They're so much easier to kick around.

czech team (my slavs ) and greece lookin' pretty good to me.... portugal? naaah.... teams winning on penalites shouldn't be alowed to pass....heheh |
<wink>
greece deserved a win;they have best defense(frankly,i never saw anything like it) and can obviously score when they need to... enough for victory...
