I am on Windows XP, and when I select thumbnail view for the folder my videos are in, it shows the first frame as a thumbnail for MPEG, WMV, and some others, but for AVI files it just shows the icon enlarged. Is there a reason why it's doing this? Not the biggest problem in the world, just curious. |

My understanding is that an AVI "thumbnail" is a single frame contained in a 'DISP' chunk at the end of the RIFF tree, in uncompressed CF_DIB format. VirtualDub doesn't create this chunk, therefore its output files don't exhibit thumbnails.
