Maybe there is someone from Doom10 here? I cannot find a link on their forum to contact somebody about a mysterious but yet funny error.

I went ahead and registered to Doom10 and it appears that my email address has been banned? "Sorry, you are not allowed to register on this forum.Banned email." huh.gif

I registered to Doom9 back in December of 2008 though I had not made my first post there yet but I have read a lot down there. Been a lurker there for some time but hadn't posted there yet.

I didn't think it was ever possible to be banned from someplace when someone hadn't registered yet. Pretty funny actually when you think about it.

Maybe you used a mail account that is frequently used with spam? Some forums actually block things like @hotmail.com and @yahoo.com

What was the email domain you tried to use, (part after the @)?

Some domains are just banned by rote.

I have a yahoo email account. I might have to use Verizon but I would prefer to have that separate from my other mail

I am sort of against getting a Google gmail account due to privacy concerns.

That site has a couple of captchas which I would think that would be more secure than than going by an email suffix to prevent spamming. Then again I'm not fluent with php nor message board software.

The only real secure thing is not allowing anyone to sign up at all. All other measures will fail at least sometimes.

I did write to DS about it, from Doom9. See what he says. If yahoo addresses are banned I'll just make the exception and use my Verizon address instead.

DS has fixed the problem of the registration.
