I just got mine today but my extra cable was ordered from someplace else on the same night I ordered the camera but I wasn't going to get the cable until next week so I first walked to radio shack and almost fainted when told that the cable I needed would be almost $40.00! - Type A USB extension cable.
I then went across the street from my home to "Yes Computers", something I should had done in the first place, dummy, and got the same cable for $10.00. Though I ordered one for $1.99 with $1.35 shipping but it won't come until next week, lol.
My thoughts:
The software is suppose to come up after connecting the flip but this hasn't happened but the computer recognized the camera as a spare drive so that isn't a problem at all.
I think there is some false advertising about grain even though I have seen samples from others that showed virtually none but I can attest that there is some grain when shooting indoors which to me that is a given since the lens is small and if you want a good camera to have less or no grain you're going to be shelling out major cash.
Inside shots in the kitchen didn't show as much grain and was easily corrected for in virtualdub.
Outside the camera works rather well. Camera shake is evident given that the camera is small and there is no added support of a viewfinder no other way of bracing. The slow panning shot I did outside is a bit jerky even though I did my best to slowly pan carefully. I see myself using deshaker for hand-held shooting but I will be mostly using a tripod as much as possible. Don't know what to use or do for the slight jerkiness effect.
Processing? Can you about 3 fps, lol. The original files have to be resaved as an AVI. I tried the Vdub DS filter as well as FFDshow as well as AVIsynth with directshowsource and the file would not load up.

Japanese? Don't know if that matters or not. Sony PSP? Isn't that a playstation file?
I will say that this camera is miles better than the Aiptek I have. I will have to downsize the video for web viewing because a lot of people will not be able to play these smoothly. |
