If you are talking MP3 simply decode to a PCM WAV file and re-encode to CBR MP3.

To create the *.wav file you can use BeSweet and create it from the AC3 file.

I have the same question but with more details. I have an AVI file with DivX5 Video, mp3 VBR audio. I need to use a tool to split the video up onto 2 cds.

VirtualDub will not handle the VBR so I can split. NanDub handles VBR but it limited to Divx v3. I suspect what I need to do is remove the audio from the avi file and add in a new CBR audio but I'm not sure how to do that.

Any suggestions on the best tool for that? Or should I just start over, this time with a CBR audio file?
