Big Problem With .avi Files, Big problem with .avi files

I have one video uncompressed in .avi (made with AFTER EFFECT)
and, when i try to compress it into an other codec
the output video is spitted and colored strangely (like the picture)

My computer, P3 500 256mo
with media player professional


Where is the problem and why?

Well, the dimensions of your GIF are 445 x 297. If your video has the same resolution, that could be your problem. Most codecs don't like odd heights and widths; a good rule of thumb is to stick with multiples of 16.
