"Couldn't locate Decompressor for format 'XVID'(unknown). VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable. Only "Direct Stream Copy" is avaible for this video"
This warning appears every time I try to open a avi file, but when I open a different avi file it doesn't say it. I notice that the one that doesn't work has no video compressor but the other has a divx codec.
How can I add divx codec to the one that doesn't have? Is there a easy program that can do that. I would like to put this files on a cd so I can watch it with my dvd player. I all ready have a vcd program but I cant because it doesnt have divx codec in the properties. |

you cannot add a codec to a file, the best thing for you to do is installing XviD (although im not sure why DivX doesnt accept the file) use google to find it (you might also want to read the Virtualdub FAQ, the error is a little bit more explained there and provides a useful links)
