I was processing a large files today when i relised I would like to regain acess to my computer for a few minuets to do an email and so on. It's hard to do this if you have started processing a video and you dont want to throw away what u have processed already. So In the next build of VirtualDub a PAUSE button on the processing details screen along with the CANCEL the button just right next to it or somthing would be great. I just think this would be a handy feature. Maybe this has already been thought of an isnt feaseable as it might cause sync errors. |

I agree, that would be a nice feature!
In the meantime, a useful workaround is to set "Processing thread priority" in the Status window to "Idle", which will reduce VirtualDub's CPU usage to almost nothing.

I second that
I use a slight workaround if I'm using one-pass and I'm not processing audio. You can abort VirtualDub and look at how many frames are in the output avi. Now goto that frame in VirtualDub and set the selection start and goto the end and set the selection end. Once both clips are processed open the first clip and append the second with Video -> Direct Stream Copy.
