Request for a fix:
Configuring DNR Dynamic Noise Reduction filters (Original + MMX) is not working in VirtualDub 1.10.4.x and 1.10.5.x
It (only) works correctly in VirtualDub 1.9.11

Phareon, think about putting the source up to GitHub, so interested folks can commit to it and to get even more exposure. |

Sorry, no. I'm afraid I don't have interest in managing a community-developed project, which takes a lot of time (and is a little too much like my day job). |

Just a small update -- UI text truncation fixes and MRU list list. I could have sworn I'd already fixed the bug with not being able to pick MRU entries past the fourth one, but I guess not. Better late than never. |

Please add a option to always use "Autodetect " without asking user when importing audio from external file. |

Alright guys, not much in test-5, but it's got a pretty big change in it: it's now built using Visual Studio 2010. Previous versions were built with Visual Studio 2005. The main impact is that VirtualDub will no longer run on Windows 98/ME/NT/2000 or pre-SP2 versions of XP... for all three of you out there. Please report any issues seen that may be due to this conversion.
The reason for this change is unusual, namely that the laptop I had been using as my development platform died a couple of months ago. While the previous laptop was running Windows 7, the new one is running Windows 8.1, and has the problem that the VS2005 compiler cannot reliably compile with precompiled headers enabled (<20% success rate per project). I've had VS2010 Pro for a while and had been putting off the transition, but this problem has forced me to accelerate the process. |

Couple oddities noticed on XP Pro SP3, though one might be due to the ffmpeg input filter and using an flv file, which often have issues, CPU usage racing to 95-100% on some seeking operations when clicking randomly on the frame slider bar at the bottom.
The one thats obviously VS2010 related though is visual styling on buttons and dialogs are busted by this change, noticed it on the open dialog, and also the progress bar on a save operation, in my theme progress indicator bars show up as a kinda transparent bright green, but in test-5 this is now just a default windows blue progress bar.

Your 100% CPU issue sounds normal to me. If there are very long keyframe intervals in the video, seeking can be very slow.
I can confirm the lack of themes (I was thinking it was a new "flat" look! It looks better in a way!) As a workaround, you can get your themes back by adding a manifest. Copy the code below and save in plain text (ANSI) format in your VirtualDub.exe directory as "VirtualDub.exe.manifest" - run VirtualDub, and the themes should be back again!
If the manifest file is incorrect in any way, VirtualDub will fail to start. No harm is done; simply delete the manifest. | CODE | <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='yes'?> <assembly xmlns='urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1' manifestVersion='1.0'> <assemblyIdentity version="1.5.2.0" processorArchitecture="X86" name="VirtualDub.VirtualDub" type="win32" /> <description>VirtualDub </description> <dependency> <dependentAssembly> <assemblyIdentity type="win32" name="Microsoft.Windows.Common-Controls" version="6.0.0.0" processorArchitecture="x86" publicKeyToken="6595b64144ccf1df" language="*" /> </dependentAssembly> </dependency> </assembly>

I except VD any more with what am not engaged and there was no wish to suffer with Visual Studio 2010. Thanks. |

I'd bet money on it being the ffmpeg plugin - seeking in flv's and wmv's is a weak spot for it Converting them to mkv's gives better seeking performance A simple .bat file for ffmpeg would be c:\somefolder\ffmpeg.exe -i "%~1" -vcodec copy -acodec copy "%~dpn1.mkv"
@Altaf Not sure about 2010, but 2013 is probably my favourite VS ever - I hate going back to the older ones
