Darn, I keep forgetting these are experimentals. For me they're more stable than the stable version (usually).

Experimental doesn't mean I don't fix bugs too. Actually, I've been starting to try to get 1.6.x onto a stable release, but so far there's only one feature that I've pushed to an alternate branch (scene finder).
By the way, a bit late, but in theory, the /x flag should work to cause VirtualDub to exit after capture completes. It didn't in older versions, but I accidentally made it work for capture as a side effect of merging the edit and capture modes onto a common message loop. |

I tried 1.6.4 for a capture tonight for the first time. As far as I can tell it worked flawlessly. No AV sync problems. It might be off by a hair after an hour capture or my eyes are playing tricks on me.
I started a thread in the Capture forum as a question that ended up being just a thread about what I did: http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act...t=ST&f=6&t=9249
the only difference from that thread is that I used S-video instead of composite.
My recordings have improved so much from two months ago. I don't think I'll need any filters when I encode from now on. With 1.6.4 eliminating the AV sync problems capturing will be a real pleasure and not a headache. Well done with this version. |

avery, just a small reminder (as i think you already thought about it); if profiles will be coming, then also a good thing would be to pick them via command line of cap mode (so that (for example) particular programme could be capped to particular resolution(vertical reduction too... ), codec etc.)
after that i only need ask leon to add support to vvcrs2.
oh and btw. did i say how wonderfull 1.6.4 is?
i'm now using the old vcr version(1.4.9.3) to do lores caps, but obviously i would love to switch to 1.6.x for everything, that's why i'm asking for this.
offcourse, if you never intended to add profiles, then don't break any sweat on it.
