This WMV stuff is cool. Thanks fccHandler.
However, there is one other feature I would like to see. It is the option to import MP3 track to the video. Right now the only option is to decode the MP3 to WAV and then re-encode it to MP3 again. It would be awsome if I could directly copy the audio stream from an MP3 audio file (for obvious reasons). I know there are versions of VirtualDub that do allow me to import MP3, but they don't support WMV, so I'm stuck.
So fccHandler what do you think, can it be done?

You could add a WAVE header to the beginning of the .mp3 file, effectively converting it into a compressed .wav which contains your mp3 data; VirtualDub will accept it then. Offhand I'm not sure what program can do this, but I'm guessing Besweet can.
The ability to import .mp3 and .ac3 files directly is an oft-requested feature that I definitely want to implement in the future, but currently I'm not doing any work on VirtualDub-MPEG2. Let's just say I'm taking an extended vacation from all things VirtualDub related.

Awsome  Thanks It worked. I didn't even think of it like that
Anyway, should anyone else need to do this, know that it can be done I didn't use this Besweet program, but a different release of VirtualDub. VirtualDub with VBR MP3 support and video freeze frame detection to be exact. That version of VirtualDub allows you to import an MP3 audio track (not sure about AC3 yet). Then I just saved the WAV file from VirtualDub while keeping the audio track on Direct stream copy. That successfully wrote an WAV header in the beginning of the file but keeping the rest of the file in MP3 format. Superb. Thanks again fccHandler. |

Sorry I've delayed responding to your posts.
VirtualDub-MPEG2 development hasn't stopped forever, but it's true that I haven't touched the source code since December. The latest version 1.6.11 currently does everything that I want it to do, and I still use it daily. I just haven't been motivated (yet) to update my code to keep up with Avery's latest builds.
I probably will update it soon, and I'll post here when I do.

If you get around to it, you might want to update ac3acm too; they finally fixed the low volume issue in ac3enc. Patch: http://mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/ffmpeg-devel...ril/010175.html
I've tried it out and seems to work as expected. |

I've finally updated VirtualDub-MPEG2 to version 1.6.14. (Hope I didn't break anything...) I've also added the low volume fix to AC3ACM.
