I record our Sunday church services on my JVC Digital Video Recorder camcorder that uses 60-minute Sony MiniDV tapes. I transfer the sermon video from my camera onto my computer through "firewire." I burn the video onto DVDs, then take the DVDs to our members who are old &/or sick and housebound, so they can watch the Sunday service. Many of them have hearing problems, and they complain the audio of the Pastor speaking is hard to understand, like he is standing in a tin can or a cave. I call it "hollow" sounding. Our church speaker system is old, and has no plug connections that will work with these newer camcorders so I can't get a more direct audio connection (or "source" if that's the right term). The sound coming from the speakers during the church service doesn't sound hollow to me, but when I play it back from the recording, it's *always* hollow sounding. I asked the staff at MicroCenter, and they suggested I use "VirtualDub" to try to improve the audio. Unfortunately I don't know how to do that; I tried once and it was way out of sync - 20+ seconds - and didn't sound any less hollow to me.
Is there a easy way to improve the audio to make it more crisp and less hollow using VirtualDub? Maybe I should say is there a SIMPLE way to do this that an OLD guy like me could try? Maybe something like "Follow these steps 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 ... " that I could understand and follow?
I appreciate your patience and any help you can give me with this. |

If you took pictures of the old and new audio connections then go to an electronics store that sell electronic components or an audio store that sell audio hardware and components. You are likely to buy for far less than a dollar a connection that can join the old and new audio connections together
You could upload the pictures of connection to a web picture upload site and post the pictures here. Though better would be ask in on an audio forum where all people talk about is audio and audio equipment if after the above if you're still having audio problems |
