If you have not received your validation email and suddenly have your account deleted, don't panic. I just went through and deleted all accounts more than a couple of days old that have been stuck in validating state. Sometimes validation emails get lost due to spam filtering, and this way the account can be re-created. I no longer manually validate accounts because this causes a ton of bounces when notification emails don't go through, which can then contribute to more emails from the forum server being rejected as spam.
Make sure forums at-sign virtualdub.org is in your whitelist, and try again. I'll try to delete accounts stuck in validating state more frequently than I have been. Also, make sure your email address is spelled correctly!
