Currently, VirtualDub's default "File Open" dialog only allows auto-appending of "linked segments". As this kind of linking does not work for files produced with other applications than VirtualDub (e.g. FFmpeg). When choosing "Append AVI segment", the option "Autodetect additional segments by filename" does exactly the right thing.
Would it be possible to have this option also in the default "File Open" dialog? |

It's already there, but the difference is that the Open operation is more restrictive about what it picks up to avoid false positives. Could you give an example of the filename pattern you are seeing? |

The filename pattern I'm using (which works perfectly with "Autodetect additional segments by filename") looks as follows:
| QUOTE | bsp-00001-000.avi bsp-00001-001.avi bsp-00001-002.avi bsp-00001-003.avi ... bsp-00001-123.avi
|
What if you'd also add the option to enable/disable autodetect of filenames in the default Open Dialog to avoid the false positives, but provide the functionality if needed.
btw: Would be great if the state of that checkbox was stored in the registry. Because we've got thousands of recording with these filenames, so it would be superdupergreat!
Thanks in advance! |
