Is there a file that contains all of the configuration items and their status?
It would much easier than manually going through all of the settings.
Also, it would be good to post in case someone else was having issues.

The settings are in the registry
Depending on which version of virtualdub you have, they are in one of the following
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Freeware\VirtualDub
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VirtualDub.org
