This is a clip from a video that was seperated into fields and double rated to 60 f/s.

I've been fooling with some filters to see it I can get rid of these jitters.

Any help?

Hello again. There was no need to start a new Topic, but (oh well)...

This video frame still shows interlacing artifacts. If it was (as you say) "separated into fields" then the separation has failed at some level. Did you use Avisynth "Bob"? What exactly is the format of your captured videos? Are they AVI or MPG? If AVI, are they uncompressed? If not, what compression method was used?

Fcc,

Yes I did use Avisynth.

That video was caputered off a very bad cable signal using an ATI analog video capture baord, saved uncompressed.

I tried it with my digital camera iterlaced video and there were no problems

FccHandler,

Can I take video shot in progressive mode and make it 60 frames?

Well, you got me; my only answer is "I don't know." sad.gif

AFAIK, if you are capturing from TV (or VHS), PAL or NTSC, the source is always interlaced. Therefore, I assume "progressive mode" refers to some special mode of your digital camera. But if you are capturing progressive frames with your camera, I don't understand why you would want to convert this to 60fps. (Isn't 30 enough?)

On the other hand, if you are capturing interlaced source (like TV), there could be some advantage to expanding the fields and re-encoding at 60 fps, which is what I thought we were talking about.

BTW, are you using VirtualDub to capture? (It doesn't sound like it.) I know almost nothing about other video capture software, since I use VirtualDub for all of my captures.

FccHandler,

Thanks for your reply.

I use Sonic Foundrys Vegas Video for all my capturing. I tried Virtualdub's capture but it does not see my IEEE card at all.

I asked you if I could ALSO do 60 frames with a progressive video since I can do both modes with my video camera.

I shoot mostly in progressive mode unless I want to do as I have so happily learned from you how to take interlaced video and break it up into fields to frames.

Just was wondering if it was possible to do that with with a progressive video.
