I routinely capture other peoples 8mm tapes. I often find that they have countless blank blue frames between each scene shot. This is likely from them having used older camcorders, or from having turned the camera completely off between shots.
What VirtualDub filter if any would be most effective in stripping out these unwanted frames which are all identical (in that they are all solid blue).
I would also appreciate a link or two to some technical advice on how to create VirtualDub filters.
Thanks in Advance

VirtualDub filters can't normally add or remove frames. You can simply select the blue frames in VD (use Set selection start/end) and then mask the frames. (All of that is available from the edit menu). This should "drop" the frames, simply repeating the last good frame until a new non-masked frame turns up. |
