M2V must be mpeg-2 video files.
To open these kind of files via VirtualDub, you can best:
1) Download and install the MPEG-2 inputdriver plugin for VirtualDub made by fcchandler > Installing means : unzip the file and copy "MPEG2.vdplugin" to the "plugins32" subfolder of your VirtualDub installation for exemple: C:\Program Files\VirtualDub 1.9.11\plugins32\MPEG2.vdplugin
2) for this one I am not sure if you will have to // maybe first try without executing this point 2. Install a "video for windows"-compatible decoder for MPEG2. If you do not have this, you can best install ffdshow (EXEcutable file) After installing that, you can 'enable' the required decoder via the "VFW Configuration" entry > Decoder tab > Codecs.
3) For decoding the audio you will have to install the AC3 ACM codec (unzip and use the *.inf file to install).
You can download: > MPEG2-plugin : http://gral.y0.pl/~fcchandler > ffdshow decoders : http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow-tr...ial%20releases/ > AC3-ACM audio-codec : http://gral.y0.pl/~fcchandler
AN ALTERNATIVE: installing the ffmpeg inputdriver plugin for VirtualDub: > http://codecpack.co/download/FFInputDriver.html C:\Program Files\VirtualDub 1.9.11\plugins32\FFInputDriver.vdplugin This inputdriver plugin does not require any extra installation of decoders. |
