Is there a version of Textsub.vdf filter that works in x64 version of VirtualDub? I did some browsing but it didn't get me far |

I'd just use the 32bit version of Virtualdub instead if you can't find a 64bit version of a particular filter It works fine on 64 bit OS and can use any 32bit filter or codec

1. Go to here.
2. Download MPC-HC_standalone_filters._VersionNumber_.x64.7z
3. Extract VSFilter.dll from it.
4. Rename it to VSFilter.vdf.
5. Place it in the folder \Virtualdub\Plugins (Create it if it does not exist. Most probably it will also work if named \Plugins64).
6. Profit.
I tested it just now, works fine.

Thx GrofLuigi. That was some workaround . Now the question. It seems that this filter has no options of customizing the added subs or has it? |

You must use SSA or ASS files, if you want to fully-control the appearance of the subtitles (font sizes, font colors, text position, whatever). |

I was kinda expecting this answer, thx for the confirmation. Too bad since I just cannot get the quality in x64 version through ssa as I can in 32 bit version. |

Here you can read some more (SSA syntax). Why can't you get the quality in x64 version?

Take a filter from MPC-HC_standalone_filters._VersionNumber_.x64.7z and after rename extension works with virtualdub !!
I wonder how many dll filters from this other software can work with virtualdub after change extension name to .vdf
Is there a list that shows which software dll filters, can be to be used as a virtualdub filter ? |

It's only one this because it was built that way a long time ago originally by Gabest. A dll with triple function as DirectShow filter, Avisynth plugin and VirtualDub filter.
You can't just try random dlls in VirtualDub.
Oops, I think you can also use FFDshow this way, but you have to go through the installer. VSFilter was also like that when it came with an installer.
