what do you mean???
how to support a special captureboard?? VD supports files no boards.
mpeg1-files are already supported and AFAIK mpeg2-files won't ever be supported...

All Vdub needs is a suitable VfW capture driver to work with, and this is the task of the manufacturer of the board/chip to code one, not Avery's ...
-------------------- Visit the unofficial Virtualdub support forum on http://forums.virtualdub.org - help to reduce the big number of emails Avery Lee is getting every day !! Support matroska as container and Gstreamer as the only truely open, x-platform multimedia platform .... |

Pinnacle do not make vfw cap drv for dc10plus. it using a directshow cap drv, the dc10+ send only mjpeg compress data on the PCI bus. with other word hardware compressing and decoding of mjpeg.
it is not mpeg1 or mpeg2 compressing/decoding.
I know it is not lee jobb do make a drv, But I am wonder if hi can put in support for dc10+ cap. It should be great if hi did. Vsub are more faster that Pinnacle Studio 7. When it comes to save the cap movies to driffent format. it seams Pinnacle Studio 7 need to resync everytime you save to other format. But virtualdub does not need to do that.

As I seem to recall, unless you're talking about Windows 98/ME, Virtualdub will most likely not recognize the capture driver as it seems to be specific towards the Pinnacle software. Unoffically, from pinnacle, I heard they are phasing out the dc10 line of cards and trying to get most of their userbase to move to their DV based cards, as there is less of an obligation to write drivers, since DV Support is somewhat native to most operating systems nowadays. |

DC10Plus does have a drv for win95/98/ME/Win2K/WinXP
I am using DC10Plus with Win2K. But it is WDM directshow cap drv that send out compress mjpeg data, not a vfw.

Well as I said before, Pinnacle made it so you have to use their software to capture with these cards. There are no drivers that will work capture software, as it seems the DC10 drivers for 2K/XP are only accessible through the Pinnacle Studio software..
This has been an issue ever since they released their beta drivers, and unfortuneatly they will only support their own proprietry software.

Ah so it seems to support directshow capture, but still requires the Pinnacle software to be installed. That's very odd that pinnacle would do that, I wonder if the driver requires dependencies, or Pinnacle made this option so users would have to use their software. Sorry about the mis-information. |

no problem.
You must have Studio 7.0 install in win2k/winxp to get dc10 works. with two update for studio 7.0 (one for studio 7 second for the dc10plus drv)

The DC10+ does work with Virtualdub if you use the old software for it. You need Studio DC10+ and driver v1.06, which only works under Win95, 98 & ME. I've set my system up as dual boot with Win2K, & a WinME install solely for capture. Virtualdub capture works great with the DC10+, and the Morgan MJPEG codec can read the capture files when I'm editing under 2K.
