I am having a problem getting VirtualDub to set up to do AVI capture. When I try to bring it up with FILE>AVI CAPTURE I get an error message "No capture driver available".
I have done some prelinimary homework before posting this request. I downloaded the DirectX 8.1 upgrade and the capture upgrade too, I also downloaded DX80DBA.EXE, VFWUPD.EXE and WRAPPER.ZIP. But it still gives me the error message.
What's missing????
TIA,
MrMike

This might be a stupid question but... Have you done this:?
Open your video application ( the one You use to watch TV) select the source that you want to capture from. CLOSE the video aplication.
THEN and ONLY THEN get virtualdub in capture mode.
This is to initialize your hardware. After doing this you might or might not have solved the problem. |

Dumb question. Why can't I find video source in virtualdub? Where is it? I am trying to capture from ADS Instant Video (USB device). Will it work? Thanks for any and all assistance. |
