user (that compared the version i provided, and the version from dvd.box.sk) says that the first version i linked in this thread actually IS the fast september version of ffvfw (986kB file).
so if it drops frames, try decreasing the kf interval.
kf interval is "maximum i-frame interval" in this shot

you surely won't find faster mpeg4 codec, i believe.
