Hello all. I have installed virtual dub v1.10.4. i installed deshaker and ffinput. I also installed the deinterlace plugin. I can load the source video (MPG) from Go Pro. The deshaker runs fine, but real slow. Pass 2 works fine, but it is slow, and the outputted video is very slow. I have a Dell, Optiplex, Intel Core 2 Duo, Windows 7, 32 Bit OS, 4 Gig Ram.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ben

It's normal for Deshaker processing (pass 1) to be slow. Pass 2 should be much faster, but don't expect smooth, real-time playback in VirtualDub.

If your output video plays back slowly in Media Player, I would first want to see your compression settings. Please post a MediaInfo report for your output file.

I'd guess that your final video is also extremely large as well
That'd be because you didn't pick a codec for the encoders (audio and video)

For video I'd recommend x264vfw -> link to the encoder and a picture of starting settings
http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act...1157&hl=x264vfw

For audio mp3's a normal choice
Link is in my sig -> LameMP3

Thanks, but it was the information about the output file which plays slowly that was asked for :-)

Did you go to the video menu, select a compressor and the configure it (and the same for audio)?
If not you have saved uncompressed video that has huge bytes per second - it can easily be larger than your hard drive can keep up with when playing back
If you haven't done those steps, you'll need to install and choose a compressor before saving (see previous post)
