My 8mm-derived AVI has large (e.g. 10-50 pixels across) irregularly-shaped dark black sharply-defined blotches on a few individual frames (obviously muck on the original celluloid). I have tried SpotRemover but with no success at all (but I'm not 100% sure I fully understand all the variables).

Can anyone suggest an Avisynth or vd filter that could deal with these? Software should find it easy to detect the blotches.
