What Format Is It?

hi

i have got a avi file that has a unknown audio stream and i carnt convert it i load the avi in to virtualdub and i carnt change to full prosessing mode becuase virtualdub carnt read it so i just direct copy and save as .wav
its plays as a .wav but when i try to rencode it i get error that its not a valid .wav file i have change the extention to load .ac3 . mp1.mp2.mpeg.raw.pcm.mp3.voxmpc.and wma
but know seam to work and i just get a load off screeming if it does encode at all i used avinfo to see if it will tell the audio format but no all it says is unknown .wav format
i need to do this audio thing so i can comprees it on to 1 cd it is on 2 at the mo.

Um, it's the "unknown" format. You need to get the unknown codec. tongue.gif

But seriously, open the AVI in VirtualDub and choose File->Information and see if it shows a tag number, and if so what number?

ok m8 the tag number is (unknown tag 200)
does that help and i thought i had all the codecs possible ................lol

Are you sure it says 200 and not 2000?

200 is Creative Labs ADPCM (I think) unsure.gif

2000 is Dolby AC3.
