Hello all
I am new to the concept of hardcoding subtitles into avi files, or indeed 'video editing' in general. After acquiring an avi file with an accompanying .srt file, I wish to hardcode the subtitles into the movie, for storage convenience. (I managed to get the subtitles to appear normally/successfully in WMP by changing the file extension .srt to .sub).
I followed the guide at http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/ad...subs_to_avi.cfm that has been mentioned already in these forums, successfully (or so I thought) converting the .srt file into a .ssa file and adding it to the .avi file. The final output shows the subtitles, but with the html tags around it - so instead of "This is an example" I'm getting "<font colour=ffffff>This is an example</font>" :S
I've tried messing around with the limited config options for the Conversion tool (conversor.exe) and re-exporting the subtitles, then re-encoding, but nothing changes.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?

If conversion is the problem, try another program. Subtitle Workshop is one example, there are others.
