Hi there,

i would like to have some parts of my video in slow motion and the rest of the video in regular speed. Means different framerates in one video.

How is this possible?

What I know is that i CANT append an part with different fame rate. But maybe there is a trick or a possibility to get some slowmo parts in my video.

Thank you all for your help in advance!

cheers
Greg from Germany

I've done this but in the other direction, to speed things up. it's more work but this is the only way I know of doing it.

You could cut out the segment from the video you want to have slowed down, put the new segment into Vdub and change the source frame rate to a lower value then under frame rate conversion put in the same value as for the other video and then save this file the same as the first video, same codec, etc.

Open up the first video and then go to "file" and select append avi segment to join the new file to the current one.

Hi man,

don't know if you remember me or not. Anyway, i finally finished my work. As is said it could take a while..... All pictures and of course vids are complete now. Just presented to a lot friends.

This is to let know that your hints were very useful for me, it works fine, and to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH again! Your are in the credits man (no joke) of my presentation!

I made a small vid which is a kind of "best of" clip in which you can see my work. It is on youtube:

And, thats funny, on number one in google if you type in google exactly: „The Trip to God’s Country“:

Hope you like it!

You were busy. biggrin.gif

How did you like the travel? I noticed you are from Germany.

You did a great job. I like the blending of color and mono. You got the likenesses of the people. Bet it was hard at times deciding on what to use for the final production?

Yes your right. I spend to much time with it and my wife was in the last period of work not amused anymore. She is in the credits too.....;-)

The travel was great. It was my (and my wifes) first time in the USA. It was a dream since 20 years now. It came true a little bid late, but not to late!!!! You have to know that i'm from the former East Germany and the USA was unreachable for us for a long time.

My english is bad. So, what means likenesses of the people? Can't find "likenesses" in the dictionary.

Yes, it was really hard to cut something important for the final clip. But there were always a line. It was the U2-Song. The Song was choosed before the video production began..!!

You have to know we are great U2-fans and the journey was partly a kind of U2-Tour...

Cheers

Likenesses as in the character of the people.

Good that you are able to make it here now, times were much different back then.

I like U2, my Late Uncle was really into U2. I'm more familiar with their 80's stuff though. I'm still stuck in the 80's, lol. The U2 song matched with the video content all the way.

Looking forward to seeing the full and final production.

Try the old deinterlace trick.

Very budget slow motion though!

Add a deinterlace filter, and deinterlace as normal to
something that has already been deinterlaced.

Out put image sequences.

repeat to desired effect
